Neurofeedback

Cutting edge treatment based on the latest developments in neuroscience.

What is Neurofeedback?

What is Neurofeedback?

While talking therapies have been shown in recent decades to change our brain functioning, thereby improving our mood, an alternative approach is to target brain function directly. Neurofeedback, also called EEG biofeedback, does exactly that.

The EEG Institute (AKA EEGInfo) has spent over 30 years developing a highly effective form of Neurofeedback called the Othmer Method.

The directors of EEGInfo, pioneers and innovators in neurofeedback treatment, describe neurofeedback as follows: “Using sensors and sophisticated software, we can measure brain activity and reflect it back through a video display. When we allow the brain to see its own activity, it can then adjust itself for better performance and function.”

By improving the brain’s ability to self-regulate, we can improve how our brains function, not just emotionally, but cognitively and behaviourally.  Importantly, Neurofeedback is not just treating the symptoms of a person’s condition, but rather, addresses the dysregulation responsible for the symptoms.

Over time, Neurofeedback gradually strengthens and stabilises brain activity naturally, restoring the brain to more optimal and flexible functioning.
